Business tax returns in Tampa

A business return is only as good as the books behind it. Your return is prepared from clean numbers, your Florida filings are tracked alongside it, and deadlines that come before April 15 don't sneak up on you.

Who we prepare returns for

  • S corporations (Form 1120-S)
  • Partnerships and multi-member LLCs (Form 1065)
  • C corporations (Form 1120)
  • Single-member LLCs and sole proprietors (Schedule C)
  • Businesses with employees, inventory or multiple locations

Federal and Florida filings

Florida corporate income tax

Form F-1120 for C corporations and LLCs taxed as corporations.

Sales and use tax

Registration and returns with the Florida Department of Revenue if you sell taxable goods or services.

Tangible personal property

The annual return to the county property appraiser for business equipment and furniture.

Year-end forms

1099-NEC filings for contractors, due January 31.

What affects the price

  • Entity type and number of owners.
  • Condition of the books at year end.
  • Number of states and Florida filings involved.
  • Assets, inventory and depreciation.

Every engagement starts with a flat quote, before any work begins.

Florida deadlines business owners miss

Florida doesn't tax most small business profits, but it does have its own filings. C corporations file Florida corporate income tax; S corporations and most LLCs don't. Businesses with equipment or furniture file a tangible personal property return with the county property appraiser by April 1, and every LLC and corporation files an annual report on Sunbiz by May 1 to avoid the late fee.

Common questions

When are business returns due?

March 15 for S corporations and partnerships, and April 15 for C corporations, on a calendar year. Extensions are available for six months.

Does an S corporation pay Florida income tax?

Generally no. Florida's corporate income tax applies to C corporations and LLCs taxed as corporations.

My books aren't ready. Can you still do the return?

Yes, but the books get cleaned up first. See bookkeeping.

Do you handle my personal return too?

Yes. Business owners usually have both done together, since the K-1 flows onto the personal return.
